Although it's early, supply chain sources have revealed the display specifications for the iPhone lineup for the upcoming year. The source indicates that the 6.27-inch and 6.86-inch iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max—both with 120Hz LTPO panels—will have a size increase. Please take this with a grain of salt because the size of the 16 Pro Max display sounds a little unbelievable.
The vanilla iPhone 16 and 16 Plus are a different story; they will have the same 6.12-inch and 6.69-inch sizes as well as a 60Hz refresh rate. Industry source Ross Young appears to corroborate this, stating that Pro Motion will only be available on vanilla devices starting in 2025.Returning to the 2024 iPhone 16 models, it goes without saying that Dynamic Island will be available on every model.
Although consumers of older iPhone models would not mind having to put up with a 60Hz display for a more year, the flagship and midrange Android smartphones' screens are starting to appear inferior to those of Apple's pricey base iPhone models.
