What's new in the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.24.4? | WABetaInfo
With the release of the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.21.12 update, which included a new privacy call relay function, WhatsApp is continuing to improve user privacy. In particular, we have learned that WhatsApp is developing a new tool to conceal your information called an alternate profile feature. This tool will be made available in a later version of the program, and it is made possible by the most recent WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.24.4 update, which is accessible on the Google Play Store:
As this screenshot illustrates, users will be able to customize an alternative photo and name that will be displayed to others in the privacy box pertaining to our profile photo those contacts whose principal profile information is hidden. If, for instance, your profile photo is only visible to those in your contact list, then those who are not on your contact list will still be able to view your other profile picture. It's important to note that your profile area will also offer access to the same feature.
Since users will now have more control over their information, we believe that the alternate profile option can act as a protective barrier by introducing a new layer of protection and privacy to the user experience. In actuality, individuals will be able to keep more privacy by setting up a different profile and selecting alternative data in the future. Furthermore, we believe that this functionality will come in very handy when the option to configure a WhatsApp username is made accessible in the future. Many choose to limit who can see their profile photo to just their contacts. Even people who reach out to you via a username will still be able to see your alternate profile, which you can set up to differ from your main one.
