According to early leaks, the Dimensity 9300 will outperform the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 by 10%. The two chips did trade blows, but that is already history; the focus is now on the future Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 and Dimensity 9400.
Benchmark scores from both chips have been found by a contributor on a Vietnamese forum, using Geekbench 6.1 and AnTuTu 10. As with the 2023 processors, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 maintains its advantage in single-core performance but falls behind in the multi-core Geekbench test.

Initial Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 Benchmarks Compared to Dimensity 9400
Switching to AnTuTu, the MediaTek has an overall score that is 10% higher. The disintegration displays an increase in CPU score of 12% and GPU score of 7%.
Assuming these results are valid, of course, the new chips are exhibiting significant performance gains over the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and Dimensity 9300. The results are questionable for a generational upgrade because they are roughly 50% higher.
Digital Chat Station suggests that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 will reach 4.0GHz on its main core, while the 8 Gen 3 max out at 3.4GHz, therefore the data may be accurate. At 3.78GHz, the Apple A17 Pro ought to get close.
